We are...not your typical pharmacy school.
At the Marshall University School of Pharmacy, we do things a bit differently.
You won’t find stadium seating. We chose to design our innovative spaces to best suit your unique learning style: small, intimate spaces with only 80 students per class to enhance student learning.
Forget boring lectures. Active Learning is the focus of Marshall’s curriculum. Our outstanding faculty encourage interactive teaching in classrooms that seat students at round tables to incite discussion, team problem solving, and peer learning. The result? Students have been shown to earn higher grades and be 50 percent less likely to fail than in traditional classrooms.
Simulation before practice. State-of-the-art simulation areas allow you to practice skills and daily pharmacy activities before jumping into real-world situations. Mock environments include a hospital pharmacy, community pharmacy, compounding laboratory, and patient counseling area. And, there’s no waiting until your third year for practice experience. Within six weeks, you’ll be certified and giving immunizations in the field!
Marshall also offers five certifications built into the program at no cost to you as a student, including:
- immunizations certification
- <797> sterilization
- medication therapy management
- diabetes management, and
- teaching
