For over 40 years, Seachem has been a company rooted in sound science. Our experience in the hobby and an educated staff of chemists and biologists are part of the package when one purchases Seachem products. Seachem remains as one of the few surviving independent and privately owned pet care companies. Seachem is owned and operated by hobbyists. All of our employees are hobbyists who maintain aquariums at home and at the office. Seachem itself was started because one such passionate hobbyist - Dr. Leo G. Morin (Founder) - recognized that the available solutions to aquarists' problems were wanting. This resulted in Seachem’s very first product: Cupraplex™ (today known as Cupramine™). Over thirty years later, Seachem is still approaching old problems in a new way and has evolved into an international supplier of quality products to the world.
Seachem maintains a marketplace presence and distributorships in over 60 countries in Europe, Asia, South America, North America, Australia and Africa. Our international sales and marketing operations are conducted frequently and regularly in-territory by qualified and trained sales and technical representatives. Seachem’s multiple brands and product lines have earned multiple accolades and awards from the aquatics trade press and are instantly recognizable at international tradeshows.

Research and Development efforts at Seachem are multidisciplinary, and spans chemistry, biology, nutrition, ecology, geology, engineering, veterinary medicine and intellectual property. Apart from being the premier international manufacturer of aquarium products, Seachem is also highly committed to educating the consumer and industry partners in the science of aquaria. Seachem offers much sought after collegiate level instructional courses, taught by staff, where the emphasis is on understanding the underlying range of chemical and biological factors in aquarium maintenance. Seachem also is a leader in corporate giving, providing matching grants for donations to the Coral Restoration Foundation and Mark of the Rhino, Mankwe Preserve, South Africa.
