We are so excited you have decided to consider Meharry Medical College. We will be starting our inaugural P.A. Program’s first P.A. class with 25 students, it will be competitive, so please apply as early as possible for the 2022 application cycle. Our CASPA Portal will be opening Dec. 1, 2021! The Physician Assistant Sciences Program at Meharry Medical College is a developing program seeking provisional accreditation with the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA).

The provisional accreditation process is rigorous, however, the matriculation of our first PA class is proposed to occur in August of 2022. The Meharry Medical College P.A. Sciences Program will open its CASPA portal site for student applications on December 1st, 2021, for the August 2022 start date for its inaugural P.A. Class! The Meharry Medical College Physician Assistant Sciences Program has applied for Accreditation-Provisional from the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant, Inc. (ARC-PA). Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding accreditation-provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students. The PA program will not commence in the event that this provisional accreditation is not received.

Meharry Medical College is a developing program, active in the development of a PA program, in preparation for entry into accreditation by the ARC-PA via the provisional accreditation pathway. The ARC-PA has determined that our institution has met the basic eligibility requirements to apply for accreditation, as noted in the accreditation Standards. We do not yet possess an accreditation status from the ARC-PA, nor are we guaranteed to achieve provisional accreditation.
