Bastyr is a regionally accredited institution of natural health arts and sciences internationally recognized for its rigorous, science-based curricula. Its many degree programs integrate centuries-old health traditions with current science on health and human systems.

Bastyr prepares students for careers that match their values. Our graduates become successful practitioners of naturopathic medicine, acupuncture, nutrition, psychology and other fields. They become herbalists, researchers, teachers, business leaders, and other pioneers who transform the well-being of the human community.

Bastyr (Washington) students learn on a 51-acre forested campus nestled in a towering Pacific Northwest forst just outside Seattle. Our campus offers unique features for the study of natural health sciences, including extensive gardens, a whole-food teaching kitchen, basic sciences and botanical medicine labs, an innovative green Student Village, and an award-winning whole-food Dining Commons. 

Bastyr University opened its second campus in San Diego in 2012, offering the first and only accredited Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine program in California. Located in the Sorrento Valley region in the center of the city's life sciences cluster, the campus is 14 miles north of downtown and minutes from the Pacific ocean.  The Naturopathic Medicine program offers the same integrated curriculum, clinical training and holistic approach as Bastyr's program in Washington state. Also offered in San Diego are outstanding master's programs in Nutrition for Wellness and Counseling Psychology.  Additionally, an undergraduate program in Nutrition and Culinary Arts has recently launched.
