About

WHAT WE DO

Suneris, Inc. is an early stage biotechnology company that develops products to accelerate hemostasis on surgical and traumatic wounds. Our gel technology stops bleeding in seconds without the need to apply pressure. We design, test, and commercialize products in in the veterinary, military, and surgical markets.

Suneris™ was built around a gel technology invented by one of its founders, Joe Landolina. Our gel stops bleeding in seconds by adhering to the surrounding tissue to hold in pressure, activating the body’s platelets, and creating a fibrin clot. It is effective both internally and externally. It is designed to be easy-to-use, stored at room temperature, and inexpensive to produce because it is derived from plants. The gel mimics the extracellular matrix (ECM), or the structural support of the body’s cells, which allows it to facilitate cell growth and act as a platform to heal wounds, treat burns, and deliver therapeutics.

As a student at NYU-Poly, Joe met co-founder Isaac Miller, an NYU Stern undergrad. They continued to develop Suneris, Inc. in the New York area and built a team to commercialize the technology. The Suneris Team is currently preparing for its product launch in the veterinary market. The product, called VETI-GEL™, is designed for veterinarians to treat internal bleeding.

COMMUNITY & EDUCATION

Joe, Isaac, and the rest of the team remain active in the NYU entrepreneurial community. Joe and Isaac give weekly lectures to freshman engineering students on innovation and entrepreneurship. They also work to bridge the gap between NYU Stern and NYU-Poly by fostering interactions between business and technology students.
