Scientia LLC is a small business concern specializing in advanced military system support, with a primary emphasis on Linux-based software engineering and related technical services. Our areas of expertise include Command and Control (C2) and video management software development and sustainment, Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) Operating Systems configuration and maintenance, Machine Learning/Artificial Intelligence, Cybersecurity/Information Assurance, and Counter-Unmanned Aerial Systems (C-UAS) technologies. Scientia also provides Systems Engineering, software/system testing, Imagery and Mapping, secure network design/implementation, and technical writing - all tailored to each customer’s requirements.
Scientia’s forte is sensor integration for Department of Defense Persistent Surveillance Systems. Noteworthy systems supported over the years include the Navy’s Shipboard Protection System (SPS) and Integrated Radar Optical Sighting Surveillance System (IROS3), Army’s Rapid Aerostat Initial Deployment (RAID) System, Military Sealift Command’s Shipboard Security Module (SSM), DEA’s Global Discovery Program, and, most recently, Army’s Hunter UAS, Marine Corps’ Ground-Based Operational Surveillance System (G-BOSS), and Army’s G-BOSS(E).
Strategically located to support NSWC Crane as its predominant Government customer, Scientia maintains offices, a laboratory, and an integration facility in Bloomington, Indiana.1 Scientia holds a Cooperative Research and Development Agreement (CRADA) with Crane, and has previously licensed four U.S. Navy patents related to Crane’s Enhanced Battlespace, Reconnaissance, Intelligence and Surveillance Software (EBRISS). Our industry partners include Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC), Alion Science and Technology, Tri Star Engineering, CACI, ECS Federal, Amentum and Technology Service Corporation.
Founded in 2010, Scientia employs consummate professionals with degrees in fields such as Electrical, Chemical, and Systems Engineering; Computer Science; CyberSecurity; Computational Biology; and Economics. Several of our associates hold advanced academic degrees; we have one PhD (EE), and three others who have completed all required coursework in various PhD programs. In addition, we have Subject Matter Experts with certifications in Systems Planning, Research, Development and Engineering (SPRDE), Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) Contracting, LEAN/Six Sigma, Network+, Security+, CCNA and Certified Information Systems Security Professionals (CISSPs). Scientia’s Information Technology infrastructure includes over 120 TB of data storage with off-site back-ups, in-house software repository and build environments, and redundant fiber-optic Internet services. Our software development processes utilize Git repositories for Configuration Management and OpenProject for issue tracking/workflow/project management. We utilize industry-best software development tools such as Gerrit Code Review, GitLab and Jenkins Continuous Integration.
