About
Frenship ISD
Thank you for entering the Frenship booth today. With a degree, you can pursue a career in Education. It is called alternative certification. You can look at the TTU ALT cert option or contact an ALT cert program such as iTeach Texas or Texas Teachers of Tomorrow. You will apply to be in the program using your current degree. Typically, you will need 12-18 hours in the subject that you wish to teach.
You will take the content exam test and complete some of the program modules and once you are at a certain point in the program you will become eligible for a Statement of Eligibility (SOE). The SOE allows you to apply for open positions and be hired as an "intern" teacher the first year.
Once hired by a district, TEA issues you a one year intern teaching certificate. During your first year, you will work as the teacher and will be paid as the teacher. This is a great pathway to becoming a teacher!
Please call Frenship if you need additional information about becoming a teacher and/or apply at frenship.net for positions that fit your current degree.
