Headquartered in Pittsburgh, PA, Bender Consulting Services, Inc. operates across the United States to connect employers with the talents to be found in the disability community. We believe that all people with disabilities should have access to freedom, through competitive employment. Since 1995, Bender Consulting Services, Inc. has been at the epicenter of disability diversity, equity and inclusion growth and innovation. Bender provides disability employment expertise in the areas of recruitment, workplace mentoring, strategic planning, training, and digital accessibility to public and private sector employers. Bender is a small business, a certified woman-owned business and a certified disability-owned business enterprise.
Our President and CEO, Joyce Bender, is a person living with disabilities and has been advocating for employment equity for over 25 years. She is on the boards of the American Association of People with Disability, Epilepsy Association of Western and Central PA, Bazelon Center for Mental Health Law, and the World Institute on Disability. She is a proud member of Disability Rights Pennsylvania, the FDR Legacy Committee, and the National Technical Institute for the Deaf (NTID) Advisory Group, and more! Joyce has represented the United States State Department on informational exchanges with Japan, South Korea, Libya, Kazakhstan, Panama, Indonesia, and Tunisia. In addition to her work with Bender Consulting Services, Inc., Joyce founded Bender Leadership Academy, a nonprofit dedicated to programming for youth with disabilities designed to increase their work-readiness skills, and is the host of the international, internet-based, talk-radio show, Disability Matters, where she has interviewed leaders within the disability and business communities, as well as politicians, authors, and actors.
