About

At Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (ACPHS), we are driven to discover everything that is achievable through science. To turn curiosity into solutions and advance the future of healthcare and medicine.

The ACPHS experience is one that combines quality academics, experiential learning, personalized attention, and a strong emphasis on service – all of which help our students grow personally and develop into talented and trusted professionals. The ACPHS academic experience is complemented by numerous community service initiatives, including student-led Community Health Days and Wellness Fairs. Our two student-operated pharmacies provide the perfect opportunity to gain the real-world experience needed to succeed after graduation. Each of our academic programs provide excellent preparation for graduates as they journey towards employment, PhD program, or a health professions degree.

Campus

Located in the capital of New York State, our 25-acre campus is in an area surrounded by hospitals, government centers and several colleges and offers all the advantages of a major metropolitan area while maintaining the qualities of a small community. Students have an opportunity to pursue all degree programs on the Albany campus and our small size makes it easy to interact with faculty and staff.

ACPHS offers students many ways to help pay for their education and invest in their future. Students in the Doctor of Pharmacy program benefit from merit scholarships, grants, and loans, while Master's applicants are eligible for tuition scholarships. Students enrolled in thesis-based programs may apply for a research assistantships once enrolled at ACPHS.

Success After Graduation

With over 7,000 alumni currently in the profession, we are proud of the generations of graduates responsible for advancing the fields of medicine and health care. Graduates of the College are prepared for a range of careers such as: biochemist, medical laboratory scientist, cytotechnologist, consumer safety officer, health policy analyst, pharmacist, physician, physician assistant and research scientist. ACPHS alumni have found employment at companies like Bristol-Myers Squibb, Regeneron, Albany Molecular Research Inc., the NYS Department of Health, and countless community, hospital, and clinical pharmacies.

Graduates are also well positioned to continue their education in doctoral programs at universities such as Mayo Medical Clinic, University of Chicago, Tufts University, and Rutgers University.

According to the College Scorecard, ACPHS was ranked #1 in the nation for median salary of our pharmacy alumni ($124,000). This ranking complements our ranking from the Brookings Institution as the #1 Value-Added college in the nation for our commitment to student success.
