Consolidated Nuclear Security, LLC manages and operates the Pantex Plant (located in Amarillo, Texas) and the Y-12 National Security Complex (located in Oak Ridge, Tennessee) under a single contract from the U.S. Department of Energy/NNSA. 

The Pantex Plant is the nation’s primary facility for the final assembly, dismantlement and maintenance of nuclear weapons.   The Pantex mission has grown over the decades as other facilities closed and responsibilities for life-extension, surveillance, assembly and high explosives operations were moved to the site.

The Y‑12 National Security Complex is a premier manufacturing facility dedicated to making our nation and the world a safer place. Y‑12 helps ensure a safe and effective U.S. nuclear weapons deterrent. We also retrieve and store nuclear materials, fuel the nation’s naval reactors, and perform complementary work for other government and private-sector entities.
