About

The Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) program offered by the School of Physical Therapy at Marshall University is a full-time, three-year, nine-semester graduate program with outstanding outcomes for students who wish to pursue a career as a physical therapist practitioner.

We offer 23,000 sq ft of dedicated learning space.  Our state-of-art facilities include 3 large classrooms, 8 seminar rooms, research laboratory, and a student lounge.  Click HERE for a virtual tour.

Our non-resident tuition is $4,785/year less than the national average.  The cost of living in West Virginia is 16.4% cheaper than the US average.  Marshall University (Huntington, WV) is centrally located between a number of major metropolitan cities on the east coast including Lexington, KY; Columbus, OH; Indianapolis, IN; Pittsburgh, PA; Richmond, VA; Charlotte, NC; and Nashville, TN. 

Our core faculty to student ratio is 1:10 (the national average is 1:12).  75% of our core faculty holds board certified specialty, including OCS, NCS, PCS, CCS and SCS. (the national average is 40%)

31/42 (74%) of the students in the Class of 2022 are from the Tri-state region (WV, OH, KY). The Class of 2022 is also represented by 11 students from the following states (CA, IL, MD, NJ, RI, SC, TN, TX, VA, WI, WY). Gender: 55% female and 45% male. 100% are APTA members.
