The Doctorate of Physiotherapy (DPT) at Robert Gordon university (RGU) , Scotland UK is currently the only CAPTE accredited course outwith the US.  This 3.5 year accelerated course builds on existing graduate knowledge and skills to deliver all of the aspects required to become a Physical Therapist eligible for licensure in the US, as well as eligibility to practice in the UK.

The DPT course offers a unique opportunity to gain a PhD  as well as a professional qualification in physiotherapy and differs slightly from US DPTs in that it is a PhD equivalent qualification.

We are looking for self starting students to who enjoy a 'flipped classroom' and problem based learning approach to study in addition to being interested and keen to undertake a higher research degree.

We have had a long association with CAPTE with our previously accredited course,  the MSc Physiotherapy (pre-registration) has attracted a large number of students from the US for the past 15 years.
