About

The University of Georgia College of Public Health promotes health in human populations through innovative research, exemplary education, and engaged service dedicated to preventing disease and injury within the state and around the world. We offer programs in Biostatistics, Disaster Management, Environmental Health , Epidemiology, Gerontology, Global Health, Health Policy & Management, and Health Promotion & Behavior.

The College of Public Health is currently comprised of four departments and three institutes on the University of Georgia campus. It consists of the Department of Environmental Health Science, the Department of Epidemiology & Biostatistics, the Department of Health Policy & Management, the Department of Health Promotion & Behavior, the Center for Global Health, the Institute of Gerontology, and the Institute for Disaster Management. The College currently offers degree programs in biostatistics, disaster managements, environmental health, epidemiology, gerontology, health promotion and behavior, public health, health policy and management, and also offers a certificate program in gerontology.

The College of Public Health has a diverse faculty population with research in a wide array of areas. With four departments, three Institutes, and a Center, there are faculty housed in various fields and disciplines. School History

The University of Georgia College of Public Health, founded in 2005, was awarded full accreditation by the Council on Education for Public Health, in 2009. With this announcement, the college became one of only 41 accredited colleges of public health in the nation and the only accredited college of public health in the University System of Georgia. The college joined the Rollins School of Public Health at Emory University as the accredited colleges of public health in Georgia.
