About

University of Maryland
A. James Clark School of Engineering
Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering (MAGE)

The University of Maryland’s A. James Clark School of Engineering is a premier program, ranked among the top 20 in the world. Located just a few miles from Washington, D.C., the Clark School is at the center of a constellation of high-tech companies and federal laboratories, offering students and faculty access to unique research and professional opportunities.

Our broad spectrum of academic programs is complemented by a vibrant entrepreneurial ecosystem, early hands-on educational experiences, and participation in national and international competitions.

The Clark School set a goal of being a leader in providing opportunities for lifelong learning of graduate engineering and continuing education in the region and the nation. The Maryland Applied Graduate Engineering (MAGE) is the mechanism through which the Clark School offers graduate engineering programs for working engineers and technical professionals. Through MAGE, we offer 30 credit Master of Engineering (M.Eng.) and 12 credit Graduate Certificate in Engineering (GCEN) programs in 17 areas of engineering.

MAGE seeks to understand the needs of the engineering community by engaging with them in various outreach activities and then acts upon their stated needs accordingly. By offering world-class traditional and niche graduate courses and degrees, and by providing customized state-of-the-art learning methods, MAGE will meet the needs of the business and governmental technology communities.
