Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine

Are you the kind of person who wants to put the pill in the bottle, or would you rather create the pill?

The Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine Program at Northeast Ohio Medical University prepares students for a future of innovation.  As an MS or PhD student in the Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine Program you will learn about the discovery, development, delivery, and pharmacologic and toxicologic evaluation of drug entities in an environment of translational research.

About Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine:

The mission of the Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine Program (IPM) is to advance the quality of healthcare and treatment of illness through the development of leading biomedical research scientists and scholars by providing students with an environment and opportunity to train with world class faculty researchers conducting groundbreaking high risk high reward research in areas such as neurodegenerative diseases, heart and blood vessel disease, hearing, musculoskeletal, diabetes and metabolism research.

Today’s post-graduate degree seekers have to be adaptable, creative, and cross-disciplinary to successfully navigate the ever-evolving landscape of academia, industry, and healthcare. The IPM program addresses these needs through a tailored interprofessional curriculum bridging pharmaceutical and medical disciplines, immersive extramural internship opportunities with industry and hospital partners, and access to a diverse community of research faculty and collaborators accommodated in state-of-the-art research facilities.

Students can choose from two primary degree tracks, Master of Science (M.S.) and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) or from two additional dual degree tracks MD/PhD and PharmD/PhD.

Degree Offerings:

Master of Science (M.S.)

The M.S. degree in Integrated Pharmaceutical Medicine requires a total of 45 credit hours. The capstone experience of the M.S. is a written thesis and thesis defense.

Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)
