Overview

The Ohio State University College of Pharmacy Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program is a post-bachelor’s entry-level professional program leading to licensure and pharmacy practice. The program is a minimum of four years. Our average class size is 130 students. Years 1-3 consist of didactic course work with introductory practical experiences. The fourth year consists of nine months of pharmacy rotations. Recognizing the importance of involvement, students engage in structured, practice related activities where course learning is combined and applied through skills training. Ohio State's College of Pharmacy is a patient centered institution - the experiential program is focused on the philosophy and process of patient care, and develops skills related to direct patient practice and medication therapy management. Ohio State’s program is consistently ranked in the top 10 programs in the nation.

Highlights of campus and Columbus

The Ohio State University is part of the largest health science campus of any university in the nation. We have 7 health science schools - Pharmacy, Medicine, Optometry, Dentistry, Veterinary Medicine, Nursing, and Health and Rehabilitation Sciences (Allied Med). This, coupled with the comprehensive Wexner Medical Center, means that Ohio State offers unlimited opportunities for our students to engage in innovative interdisciplinary practice.

Columbus, OH, is the nation's 14th largest city - boasting a population of over 780,000. It is a vibrant, active, and young city with a rich tradition of music, art, food, entertainment, sports, and leadership. It's historic neighborhoods, the Short North arts district,  and many fortune 500 companies are within close proximity to campus. Our students enjoy not only an exceptional education, but also a full and engaging life outside of the classroom.
