About

About KGI

Keck Graduate Institute (KGI) is a non-profit institution in Claremont, CA. KGI became the seventh member of The Claremont Colleges in 1997. KGI offers innovative postgraduate degrees and certificates that integrate life and health sciences, business, engineering, pharmacy, and genetics. With an entrepreneurial approach and industry connections, KGI provides pathways for students to become leaders in healthcare and the applied life sciences.

About Our Programs

The Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MSPA) Program is anticipated to start in fall 2022 and will be 27 months in length. The first 15 months is the didactic phase, which will include active learning methods, interprofessional education, and early clinical experiences. The final 12 months is the clinical phase, which will include a capstone project and eight 6-week clinical rotations in a range of disciplines and healthcare settings. MSPA graduates will enter the workforce with a better understanding of the social determinants of health and patient-centered medicine, so they are fully prepared to provide compassionate care to diverse populations, as well as play a leadership role in community and public health.

KGI also offers a Postbaccalaureate Pre-PA (PPA) Certificate, which combines the best of an “academic enhancer” program and a Special Master’s Program. The PPA program is best suited for students who are not only looking to further improve upon their credentials, including the need for additional clinical hours, but to develop both breadth and depth to enrich their future career in healthcare.

Mission

The mission of KGI’s future MSPA program is to develop high quality PAs who are dedicated to advancing healthcare through leadership, commitment to their communities, and the compassionate care of diverse populations.

Vision

KGI’s MSPA program will redefine PA education through innovative teaching methods, rich clinical experiences, interprofessional collaboration, and leadership training. Our graduates will play an integral role in promoting health equity and shaping the future of healthcare in clinical, administrative, and academic roles.

Accreditation Status

The ARC-PA has granted Accreditation-Provisional status to the Keck Graduate Institute Physician Assistant Program sponsored by Keck Graduate Institute.
Accreditation-Provisional is an accreditation status granted when the plans and resource allocation, if fully implemented as planned, of a proposed program that has not yet enrolled students appear to demonstrate the program’s ability to meet the ARC-PA Standards or when a program holding Accreditation-Provisional status appears to demonstrate continued progress in complying with the Standards as it prepares for the graduation of the first class (cohort) of students.
Accreditation-Provisional does not ensure any subsequent accreditation status. It is limited to no more than five years from matriculation of the first class.
The program’s accreditation history can be viewed on the ARC-PA website at http://www.arc-pa.org/accreditation-history-keck-graduate-institute/.
