EMHS (Eastern Maine Healthcare Systems) is an integrated health delivery system serving the state of Maine. EMHS offers a broad range of health delivery services and providers, including: acute care, medical-surgical hospitals, a free-standing acute psychiatric hospital, primary care and specialty physician practices, long-term care and home health agencies, and ground and air emergency transport services.

At EMHS, in the past few years, we have reinvented leadership and governance structures and decision-making processes to better address the remarkable evolution of healthcare delivery and reimbursement that is predominant in our present environment. This restructuring is critical to ensure our system is well poised to provide the people of Maine with the right care, at the right time, and in the right place.

This great work would not be possible without the efforts of the thousands of dedicated individuals who bring their talents and skills to EMHS sites of service across Maine. In addition, our team is superbly supported by more than 100 volunteer board members who give countless hours of guidance on behalf of their communities. Change is never easy, but all of us at EMHS are determined to create a healthcare delivery system of the future as we pursue our 2020 vision to be a nationally recognized model of excellence in healthcare.
