About the Physician Assistant Education Association
The Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) is the only national organization representing physician assistant educational programs in the United States. Accredited PA programs can be members of the Association, and the programs and their faculty benefit from resources, tools, and other services provided by the Association.
While PAEA is focused on all aspects of PA education, the Association is also dedicated to serving pre-physician assistants, applicants and students. We provide our member programs the opportunity to participate in the central application service for physician assistants (CASPA) and provide an informational website, PA Focus, as well as the CASPA Applicant Portal for the pre-physician assistant, applicant, and student audience.
About CASPA
CASPA was established in 2001 and serves as a web-based application for applicants to the physician assistant profession. It is a product of the Physician Assistant Education Association (PAEA) and Liaison, International.
Over ninety percent of currently accredited physician assistant programs participate in the application service, as well as 14 developing PA programs. Developing programs are programs that are awaiting their provisional accreditation, and plan to admit their first class within the year. Please see the PA program directory for a list of all CASPA participating programs and non-CASPA PA programs, as well as admissions requirements, and other program information.
Questions about the application process can be answered by the CASPA Instructions and FAQ on the applicant portal.
PAEA and CASPA have various social media outlets available to pre-physician assistants, applicants, and students. We encourage you to join in the Twitter, Facebook, and Reddit conversations to become more informed about the profession, admissions, and applying to physician assistant school.
