About

Goddard College’s low-residency semester format comprises one intensive 8-day residency on campus followed by 16 weeks of guided independent work in close collaboration with a faculty advisor, studying at home or elsewhere. The college pioneered this format over a half century ago especially to meet the needs of highly motivated, academically capable adult students with professional, family, and other obligations. Students live across the US and overseas, coming to campus twice a year (Spring and Fall) to plan their semesters in person with their respective faculty mentors. Our Education program has sites on the main campus in Plainfield, Vermont and in Seattle, Washington.
