We are a highly ranked OT program and strive to offer a dynamic, student centered, experiential learning environment from top faculty in their respective fields. Our location provides unparalleled opportunities for clinical fieldwork and research experiences. The combined resources of New York City, NYU, and our department provide an outstanding learning environment for professional and personal growth. Our programs include: Entry-Level Professional Master’s of Science (MS), Professional Two-Tiered Accelerated Degree Program (MS/OTD), Post-Professional Master’s of Arts (MA), Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD), and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Research in Occupational Therapy.

Entry-Level Professional Master’s of Science (MS)

Professional Two-Tiered Accelerated Degree Program (MS/OTD)

The two-tiered degree program combines NYU's professional master's and clinical doctorate programs in occupational therapy.

Post-Professional Master’s of Arts (MA)

This program is designed for students with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy who are seeking to advance their education.  Students in our MA program are from around the world.  They often bring their international experiences, reflecting the global mission of NYU to the classroom, as they earn an advanced degree.

MA/OTD Single Decision Option - This option allows therapists with a bachelor’s degree in occupational therapy to apply directly to our clinical doctoral degree program and earn a master's degree during the educational process.

Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD)

This program prepares occupational therapists to demonstrate competence in a specific area of clinic specialization. Through interdisciplinary coursework, participation in faculty-led research and field projects, and collaborative studies in our department, therapists will develop the analytical skills necessary for assuming leadership roles, and establish an unparalleled network of professional contacts.

This program in offered on-campus and online.

Doctor of Philosophy (PhD)

Our PhD in OT was the first in the nation and has produced scholars and academics that can be found at leading universities throughout the US and abroad.  The program provides occupational therapists with the knowledge and skills to work in the profession as researchers, scholars, and educators.
