Generation RX
Preparing future health leaders
At the CU Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences at the Anschutz Medical Campus, we’re preparing the world’s future pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists through innovative learning and teaching.
As experts in medicines and their therapeutic use, we’re caring for patients, helping them live longer with chronic illnesses such as heart disease and diabetes, and reducing side effects of prolonged medication use.
We’re tailoring medications to an individual’s DNA and targeting treatments to maximize their effectiveness.
We’re vaccinating thousands against influenza and pneumonia – still some of the biggest killers in the world today – and discovering new ways to deliver and transport vaccines to developing nations.
We’re improving the stability of medicines to reduce deadly reactions and ensure product safety and effectiveness, and leading medical discoveries that advance science and improve health care.
And most importantly, we’re educating the pharmacists and research scientist who will make the world healthier for generations to come.

Over 100 Years of Pharmacy education, patient care and scientific discovery
Originally established in 1911 as a department of the School of Medicine on the University of Colorado at Boulder, the Skaggs School of Pharmacy opened its doors with two students and one faculty member. The school became an independent college in 1913 and a school in 1957. We joined the Denver Campus in 1986 and held our first classes at the former Health Sciences Center campus in 1992. We moved in 2008 to the Anschutz Medical Campus in Aurora – one of the largest academic health centers in the country.
