The Gillings School of Global Public Health's mission is to improve public health, promote individual well-being and eliminate health disparities across North Carolina and around the world. According to rankings, the Gillings School is #2 of all public health schools in the U.S. and the top public school of public health in the nation. Accredited by the Council on Education for Public Health (CEPH), the public health school offers undergraduate and graduate programs on campus near UNC’s schools of medicine, nursing, dentistry and pharmacy, and through its state-of-the-art online education programs.
The Gillings School values and participates in interdisciplinary research, education, and service through the activities of many centers, institutes, and specialized facilities. Beyond campus, members of the faculty teach, conduct research, and serve communities across the state and nation and around the world. The Research, Innovation, and Global Solutions office empowers Gillings faculty members, students, and staff to solve local and global health problems through research, innovation and practice in more than 60 countries around the world. The North Carolina Institute for Public Health puts public health in action by delivering training, conducting research and providing technical assistance to transform the practice of public health for all.

Executive Masters Programs:
The Department of Health Policy and Management provides graduate-level education to employed health professionals and health administrators through its executive master's programs. Available degrees are the Master of Public Health and the Master of Healthcare Administration.
Masters of Public Health:
MPH@UNC is the UNC Gillings School's online Master of Public (MPH) program. As a student, you will attend live, weekly classes led by UNC faculty in our interactive online campus, collaborate with an accomplished group of peers located across the nation, access engaging coursework and resources, receive dedicated guidance from student support specialists and join the UNC alumni network upon graduation.
Executive Doctoral Program:
The Doctor of Public Health in Health Leadership degree is available through the Department of Health Policy and Management, is the only one of its kind in the country that prepares working health-care professionals to become top leaders. The highly competitive, distance-learning program uses the latest Internet technology to connect distinguished faculty members and students in an unparalleled educational environment.
