The Ameson Education & Cultural Exchange Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, nongovernmental organization committed to the promotion and implementation of programs that facilitate cultural and educational exchange throughout the world – most notably, between the United States and China. It was founded in New York City in 1998 before moving to its current headquarters in Washington D.C. in 2012. The Foundation also maintains operations throughout China, including offices in Shanghai and Nanjing.
Ameson focuses on three main areas: connecting the global education community, improving the quality of education at all levels, and forging new paths in international education. Its Honorary Chairman was the late Dr. Boutros Boutros-Ghali, former Secretary General of the United Nations.
Ameson’s goal of “bridging nations and building dialogue” seeks to establish a cross-cultural foundation of mutual respect and open exchange between countries. All of the Foundation’s programs strive to forge the path towards a future with increased international cooperation and understanding.
