The Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai has adopted a model for its pre-doctoral training programs that reflects the multidisciplinary nature of contemporary biomedical sciences. Our students pursue a course of study that focuses on an important research problem and challenges them to translate basic research findings to the clinic.
MD/PhD Program develops future physician-scientists in a rigorous joint-degree program in an environment that promotes cutting-edge research.
Our cross-disciplinary approach addresses complex biomedical problems, encourages collaborations throughout the institution, and exposes students to translational initiatives in an effort to apply new basic science discoveries to clinical care. Master of Science in Biomedical Sciences Program takes advantage of the multidisciplinary research education programs on our campus, our commitment to the translation of fundamental findings in basic biomedical sciences to applications in the prevention of disease and novel therapies for disease, and the commitment to prepare students to contribute to various aspects of the biomedical enterprise.
