The Manderson Graduate School of Business housed in the Culverhouse College of Commerce offers the flagship two-year MBA, eight different specialized master’s degrees and the Executive MBA. Getting Started with MBA Admissions

  • Deadlines
    We have rolling admissions, so we make admissions decisions as applications are completed. Applications completed by Priority Deadlines are given priority for merit-based scholarships and graduate assistantships. The admissions committee highly recommends applying by March for the best opportunity for admission.
    First Priority Deadline: January 5
    Second Priority Deadline: February 15
    Regular Deadline: April 15

  • Statement of Purpose Essay
    What is a Statement of Purpose? Also called the statement of intent, this required Supporting Document is where you share your story of why an MBA from Alabama is the best fit for you. It is ideally two pages (1.5 or double spaced) on the following:
    • What lead to your decision to pursue a Manderson MBA?
    • Your potential contributions to Manderson & assets you will bring to the class
    • Areas of improvement 
    • Your concentration(s) interests
    • Potential career aspirations
  • Resume
    A professional one-page resume should be uploaded. For those with substantial work experience, subsequent pages are allowed.
  • Three Recommendation Letters

Whether your plan involves entrepreneurship or a Fortune 500 company, post-graduate studies, or switching careers, the Manderson Graduate School of Business offers one-year degrees in Accounting, Tax Accounting, Economics, Applied Statistics, Finance, Marketing, Operations Management, and Management. Select your program and be prepared to learn from world-renowned faculty in state-of- the-art facilities.

Most of our master’s programs do not require a business undergraduate degree. The MAcc and the MTA do require either a Bachelor’s in Accounting (preferred) or prerequisite accounting courses.

UA Graduate School Application  The University of Alabama Graduate School provides an online application. A checklist will be provided to guide you through the process and assist you with required materials.

What is required in order to apply?

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Transcripts from all colleges attended.
  • A Statement of Purpose outlining your reasons for desiring the degree.
  • An up-to-date Resume.
  • 2-3 Letters of Recommendation (varies by degree).
  • An official GMAT or GRE score.
