David Van Daff
With almost 30 years of comprehensive experience in fitness, wellness and sport, David Van
Daff brings a vast level of expertise in fitness industry business operations, multi-facility
management, technology, training and education to the National Academy of Sports Medicine
(NASM).
As Vice President, Industry Relations & Public Affairs, Van Daff leads the NASM Domestic and
International Fitness Industry Divisions, ClubConnect and all public affairs, advocacy, and
external relations efforts.
Prior to rejoining NASM, he served in roles as Executive Vice President of Fitness for
Fusionetics and Vice President of Business Development and Public Affairs for NASM. In
addition, Van Daff lead fitness operations, personal training and education for over 400 health
clubs at Bally Total Fitness for 14 years.
He is often interviewed by national media – including The Wall Street Journal, USA Today, CNN,
The New York Times, Shape, Men’s Fitness, Men’s Health and InStyle – for his expertise in
the fitness, health and wellness industry.
Van Daff holds a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Kansas and a Master of Science from
the University of Tennessee. He also has an extensive array of certifications and credentials in
personal training, corrective exercise, fitness nutrition, performance enhancement and weight
loss. He currently resides in Chicago with his family.
