APTA's Pathway to Physical Therapy is designed to help you feel more informed, confident,
and prepared as you navigate your path toward a career in physical therapy. By attending the
Pathway to Physical Therapy Virtual Engagement event, participants will be able to:
- Explain the physical therapy school application process, including required components,
timelines, and strategies for becoming a competitive applicant. - Describe the academic rigor and participant experience of a doctor of physical therapy,
or DPT, program, including coursework, clinical education, and professional expectations. - Identify the role of the GRE in DPT school admissions and recognize effective preparation strategies
and common considerations related to test-taking. - Evaluate the financial implications of pursuing a DPT degree, including tuition, fees,
financial aid options, and long-term career considerations. - Engage confidently with DPT programs and representatives, asking informed questions to determine
program fit and next steps in their pre-PT journey.
